Not comprehensive Actors Lists, please be aware…These are only from the films I’ve seen so far. And, sensitively, I write these up in so as to keep from spoiling the story, and acting performances, for anyone who hasn’t seen these movies yet…
The acting nominations have not been announced as yet, as you probably know.
But if these richly authentic acting performances don’t make it in; then Oscar’s® Academy® needs an infusion of people who know acting...Or else they need some kind of way to make sure the members watch everything, especially the smaller good stuff…And not just at bedtime either…
Because if these following two actors don’t get Oscar-nominated, then there had to have been a whole lotta snoring going on…In the Palisades, the Hollywood Hills, and in Malibu, after the screeners went out…

Oooohhh, the kind of acting Bale whipped out in this movie, was some of the best acting I have seen in a lon-n-ng-g time.
(Biting my tongue so I say no more until everyone sees it…But if I was to admit I have a favorite, it’s this acting performance. My favorite in years…)

Mark Ruffalo in THE KIDS ARE ALRIGHT –
Another time, and this one as a different type of character, but still typically smooth Mark Ruffalo working his magic, his own special way like his own remarkable brand.
Ruffalo has a unique, special gift: He constantly appears as if he isn’t acting, and gets the audience to feel a little superior to him; like they are saying “Who is this dunkoph (spell?) Like we don’t know that he is just being himself, and just walking through this movie. He even seems a little stupid.”
Au contraire, the audience may, or probably doesn’t ever, realize. He’s not only not a dummy, nor slacker, but he’s brilliant.
He manages to pull the rabbit out of the hat, flawlessly, delivering these authentic performances; that are so effortless that the audience buys into the story and his character, because they’re looking at everyone else performing, while Ruffalo brings em the story, with no false notes. Aw, man!
Kudos to Chodolenko for hiring him and not a ponytailed lanky hippie type, which would have been expected. Ruffalo makes his rendition so much real-er than anyone else could be, even spot on type-wise. Could his not being the predictable type contribute to how real he comes off, in addition?

Could Mark Ruffalo's acting be too good in his own special way, to be noticed by the Academy Members?
Time will tell, then we’ll see. In the meantime, I urge you to see THE KIDS ARE ALRIGHT, and THE FIGHTER, for the films themselves, and especially watch these performances. I will discuss the other actors in the two films, additionally, in the next few weeks.
And…If you are concerned that I didn’t say enough about actor Christian Bale’s role in THE FIGHTER, then come back here closer to the Oscars®. I’ll be talking about it, most definitely.
Actually, I invite you to come back everyday until The Academy Awards®. Uh huh. Oscar Prep is back.
Tell your friends… All of em, okay?
Best, ;~Dana
