Many people aren’t all that excited about the Academy Awards this year. From my standpoint, it was a wonderfully exciting Oscar® year. There were so many unexpected surprises.
I’m not even talking about the startling Avatar last-minute-invasion, that just took the world by storm, and that NO ONE foresaw.
Nor am I talking about about Kathryn Bigelow, and the wake-up call that everyone suddenly heard, about that there were no female directors, practically at all; and that there may be a woman director, this year that wins. Even without a movie that busted box office. Even up against the billions that Avatar earned; and this dramatically coincidental tidbit: that Bigelow’s ex-husband happened to be Avatar’s director, James Cameron.
[They were both asked to be presenters, together, at the Academy Awards; and, individually, both declined.]
Nope.
That’s not what blew my mind.
I will put a photograph for now, to represent what I considered to be exceptional about this year. My text may come later, like -uh-after the Awards. Today, as I write this post, ‘afterward’ will be very soon. The 82nd Academy Awards are on tonight.
Let this photo suffice, for now; until I come back and essay-my -butt-off…
Best!
Dana
