Scott Feinberg is one of the ever-expanding pack of Oscarologists.
This year, he is at HollywoodNews.com which is an off shoot of Hollywood.com, and uh yeah, so what.
Scott Feinberg is bigger time in the blogosphere, than the above. He has had his own site called And The Winner Is, and has made a name for himself in the world of Oscar prediction. He actually uses mathematical methods, and scientific formulas to determine who will have the best chance of winning an Oscar.
Here’s Scott Feinberg, Oscarologist, in his video blog.
It’s a Monday, right now. I have two blogs, at this time. I love blogging, but I need to also tend to the other parts of my life, once in a while…
I haven’t posted many videos on OscarPrep yet, this Awards Season, and awards me a bit of time, otherwise.
I am a little peeved now that I’ve watched this video; because of the voiceover tag at the very beginning. As far as I know, their voiceover tag came after my own tag, for Hollywood Actor Prep videos, in use for about 2 years and going strong. [Since I was a highly successful voiceover, for many years, I thought that my own voice would serve as a good identifier for my site. And, it's my site, my voice, even my gender. He-e-ey.]
The two voiceovers, on this two videos, sound too similar, for my comfort. Both the top person at Hollywood.com, and Mr. Feinberg, have had some kind of communication from me, over these past 2 years.
I am not calling it copycat, or poaching. I just wish to say that the voiceover tag, at the beginning of Feinberg’s video isn’t me. It isn’t my voice, either, nor the level of professionalism–sorry, just obvious. It isn’t for my site either; not this one, not Hollywood Actor Prep, nor for the Hollywood News page that I recently removed from my acting website. The names of the sites do all sound similar…that’s why I am making this clear distinction.
I’ve corresponded with both the critic on this video, and with the head person of Hollywood.com; more than once, over these past 2 years.
I’m putting an example of my voiceover from my website’s videos, at the end of this post, so y’all can be the judge and let me know if it really does sound as ‘influenced’ as I think it is today. (I am hoping that tomorrow it will sound different.)
Leave a comment if you think I am being hyper-sensitive about this. A voice like that really isn’t, uh, like the people who I hear, or the person that is, at the top of Hollywood.com. Nor the one that is on this screen. And, who I have contacted on prior occasions, for my blog.
That’s not even what this is about, so excuse my rant and (anti) rave.
This post is really about this Oscar video. [Even though, for now, I've made it about me! Remember that Carly Simon song??]
…Let’s hope that you find this worth this hissy-ness reaction, of mine. If you are bothered by it, you can tell me that too. Or anything else.
UPDATE Scott has let me know that he has nothing to do with the voiceover and so therefore, I apologize to him.
My blogs have an easy way to comment…Once it’s understood how it works, that is:
Two choices:
On each individual post, a comment box should show up at the bottom of the page.
OR–
Go up to UPPER RIGHT CORNER, where it says HOME. Click on it. Then, in the square, on the page, that has this page’s title, find the word COMMENTS. (It’s teeny, but the word is right there.)
Even if it says: NO COMMENTS…That is the place to click to leave your comment. It is the same on Hollywood Actor Prep, too, in case you didn’t know.
Hope you got some value from the Oscarologist’s video.
And, as my own point pushes in once again, here’s a video from my YouTube site. [These videos are also embedded in my other blog called Hollywood Actor Prep. That's a link to my website...]
[I'll be in a better mood tomorrow...]
