These are my choices for those that were overlooked as Oscar© Nominees, this year. They gave excellent acting performances.

Actor Viggo Mortensen in The Road.

Let’s start with this actor…I think he’s so artistic, and so un-Hollywood, that he gets overlooked.

It may be simply be that, truthfully, the great majority of Hollywood people are un-artistic types. Artistic types freak them out. Really.

This actor makes choices, too, that don’t have a lot to do with garnering individual attention for himself. Often, his movies aren’t blockbusters either.

He doesn’t live in Los Angeles, nor New York. He used to be married to Excene, the lead singer in a punk band. (That must really freak them out.)

He’s a serious actor, he’s handsome, he’s sexy; I’ll bet he never hired a publicist. He doesn’t play the Hollywood game. Yet, his career has sustained for a very long time.

I applaud your work, Viggo Mortensen. Here’s my standing ovation, for this most recent acting accomplishment in The Road.
